Don’t Let History Repeat Itself: Stop another “Bad Blood” tragedy

The bleeding disorders community has lived through tragedy before. In the 1980s, contaminated blood products claimed thousands of lives and devastated families across the country. Out of that pain came new safeguards—lifelines that protected patients and restored trust in the blood supply.
But today, those safeguards are at risk. Without strong action, the hard lessons of the past could be forgotten, and history could repeat itself.
Our nation's blood disorder services are in jeopardy. Rebuilding the CDC Division of Blood Disorders and reinstating the experts of the Advisory Committee on Blood and Tissue Safety and Availability (ACBTSA) is needed urgently. Emailing your representatives about this crisis could create positive change and prevent another 'Bad Blood' era. Let's ensure safe blood supplies for every American!
